Hi to all!

Can Eristalis rupium be confirmed here?

Found 17.6.2022 in Germany, Upper Bavaria, some 500 m from lake Lödensee near Ruhpolding, about 780 m a.s.l., coordinates 47.69736, 12.60290

Seemed to me a bit smaller than E. tenax, but that's nothing to rely on.

Best greetings

Rupert

Hi Rupert
I am not expert so please accpet this with care!
I was told E. Tenax can be very variable. The one I saw last year https://www.flickr.com/photos/157476475@N03/51381449744/in/photolist-2mhpmUy
It doesn't look much like yours.
I looked at E. rupium on Steven Falk's Flickr page and it looks good for it.

Thanks Gareth!
I mentioned E. tenax only to give an idea of the size of it. Surely this is not one of them. Smile
