Dear dipterists,
this syrphid fly was found on May 22, 2022 in Germany, Schleswig-Holstein, northern suburbs of Hamburg at the edge of a wet wood area. The fly was c. 13 - 15 mm in size.
Due to the missing yellow markings at the rear part of the thorax I would determine it as Temnostoma apiforme, a male specimen. Could anyone confirm oder rectify this?
Thank you very much in advance for having a look and an answer.

Best regards,
Sabine Flechtmann

The key by Van Veen (https://books.goo...Temnostoma) leads us to that species. A nice one!
