Small flies in house

Hello! It's raining cats and dogs at the moment - but if you don't go out for flies you find them at home... :-) The photo of the left one is just 5 minutes old, taken in our kitchen. The size of it is about that of a Small House Fly (Fannia). For reference: the hairs on the pic belonged to our cats ;-). The right photo was taken in october. About the same size, but looking a bit different. Are they fanniids or just some muscids? Thanks in advance!
