typical Araneidae.
Maybe Araneus sp. I never saw an Araneus with rippled abdomen. Smile

To me, it resembles Araneus angulatus (compare http://www.nickss...ulatus.htm), provided that the abdomen has two angular tubercles ("shoulder protuberances".) They should be on the edges of the dark transversal zone but are not very clearly visible in the photo.

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
