Hello,

I found this larva of a on Picea abies tree. Is it possible to determine at least its family from these photo?
Photo on Finland Kokkola 12 April 2019.

Thank you in advance,
Pentti

Most likely Mycetophilidae. With these type of larvae you often need to check the ventral side of the headcapsule to separate it from Sciaridae. But I think I can see a large gap there, absent in Sciaridae

I can no longer send private messages (and maybe not receive?), even though my inbox and outbox are not yet full. I write, click "send" and they disappear and never show up in the outbox.
