Tiny fly in an orange grove. Very dark, but it looks like Drosophilidae to me. ¡Saludos! André Andre Burgers attached the following image: [298.1Kb] Edited by Andre Burgers on 11-02-2022 22:01 errare humanum est sed perseverare diabolicum |

With both crossveins darkened, it is probably an unusually dark specimen of some species of Drosophila quinaria group - e. g. D. phalerata seems to be a good candidate. Colour pattern of abdominal tergites, a good specific character, is unfortunately obscuired in the picture. |

Thanks again, Jan! Happy to have the family right. There was no way to photograph the abdomen, too nervous. In another photo I can discern the color pattern of the abdomen. Now we can judge for D. phalerata with greater probability, although other species are not quite excluded (D. kuntzei, D. histrio or D. curvispina, which is however unknown from Spain).

Perfect, Jan! Probable Drosophila phalerata is much more than I hoped for. ¡Saludos! errare humanum est sed perseverare diabolicum |
