Hello!

This medium sized fly (somewhat smaller than Calliphoria) was sunbathing on a tree trunk on March 27 here in Ostwestfalen/Germany. Is it possible to determine the genus after the photo? Thanks in advance!

right.
Definitely no Sarcophagidae: too broad abdomen.
Could be Calliphoridae, like some larger Pollenia female (like variegata).
Could, on the other hand, be a Tachinid.
Can't tell you on these pictures
