Hello,
Here is what I think is Pherbellia but I can't find its species. Found near a pond in the south of France last week. Thank you for your help.

in my opinion it is a famil Scatophagidae (dung flies)...

Yes, you are right, the insect does look like the genus Scathophaga, thank you.
