Hello! On first glance I thought, all flies from this afternoon (-1 ?C) at our house (Ostwestfalen/Germany) were of the same species. All were about 10 mm and had some fuzzy hairs on the thorax - so I was into Pollenia sp.. But now that I look at the photos, I think neither one is Pollenia?! This male seems to have a too weak bend in vein M. Could it be a Muscina (Muscidae)? Hello! A female with a stronger bend in M-vein. Same wall as the male. Only on the second of these two larger photos I see much metallic blue. At first I thought these pics were from the same indivudual (pics taken during 15 minutes at the same wall, but I was not continously present), but now I'm not sure anymore... . The last pics seems to show a Calliphora... http://www.foto-u...ina_W2.jpg http://www.foto-u...ina_W3.jpg Juergen Peters attached the following image: [51.64Kb] Edited by Juergen Peters on 16-12-2007 17:50 Best regards, Jürgen -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Juergen Peters Borgholzhausen, Germany WWW: http://insektenfo... -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= |

Hello, Gabor! Xespok wrote: Muscina and Calliphora were my idea, too. Thanks! I can't remember having seen such a "hairy" Muscina, therefore I wasn't sure.
