I Know Volucella liquida Erichson in Wagner, 1841 is known from north Africa, but could this specimen be Volucella liquida Erichson in Wagner, 1841, Male ???
This specimen was pictured in Belgium (in my garden) on 2021-06-08 !!!

Hi, I think it's the male Volucella bombylans var. bombylans.

Tried to attach an image to a forum post. jpg, 32kB, 72dpi, no blanks, ... File name is correctly displayed, but when I click "Preview Thread" it just vanishes. Help!
