Hello,
is a species identification possible here? Size estimated 10 mm, photographed on 08/24/21 in Germany, Northern Bavaria, on the wall of the house.

Thanks very much
Eugen

Sarcophaga. sp, most likely needs genitalia. I assume this is a large species. If it has black genitalia, iti is likely to be Sarcophaga (Sarcophaga) sp.

Hello Gabor,

many thanks for your answer. Yes, it was a large species, but i donĀ“t know the colour of genitalia. I have no more photos.

Greetings
Eugen

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
