Hello,

I photographed this fly in Val D'Arano (AQ), Italy, 1350m a.s.l. on August 22nd 2021. I think it is a Psychodidae, but is it possible to identify its genus or species from these photos?

Thank you in advance,
Emanuele

It's a Pneumia or a Pericoma, together they form tribus Pericomaini.

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
