 Mmmm .. I think Trichoceridae would have longer antennae, and fewer markings on the wings. This looks more like a Tipula species.

 Thanks for your help - yes, the antennae are too short etc. I was irritated by the seemingly slender habitus.

Tried to attach an image to a forum post. jpg, 32kB, 72dpi, no blanks, ... File name is correctly displayed, but when I click "Preview Thread" it just vanishes. Help!
