Hello,

A Heleomyzidae found in North of France, at Oxelaere, the 19 September 2021, feeding on honeydew from Eucallipterus tiliae, on a Tilia sp. leaves, in a public garden
I think it is a female Trixoscelis sp. but I am not sure between T. canescens, T. frontalis and T. similis ?
(Not visible on the pictures is the abdomen becoming more darker in a line in the center)

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
