Hi, I really must apologize for the bad condition of this dead fly - the body is stricken with spider silk and heavily damaged. However, its colours are still well seen and let me think of Urophora cf. stylata. Would you possibly confirm this? Ah - a new genus for me! Many thanks, Ben! I learned that the Cherry fruit fly is a serious pest in cherries and has to be controlled. However, this is the first imago I have seen. Unfortunately, the nice green colour of the eyes can't be even guessed anymore... Sundew |
