Hi all! This is acutely embarrasing - I can sex Drosophila without thinking (or a lens)... But what sex are these flies? Are they both male, or is the right on male, and the left one female? Thanks! D djo attached the following image: [170.64Kb] |

Both male - the curved tip of the aedeagus is just visible in both specimens.

The two are males. Compare picture of a female of related species https://diptera.info/photogallery.php?photo_id=4443 Note small subconical cercus and, below it, flat bristled lamellae of oviscapt, arising from near the median line. |
