Individuals +/- 5mm long. On wild raspberry leaf, in dense undergrowth, 10m from a small stream. Remained on leaf for about 2 minutes before flying off, still joined, onto another leaf about a metre away. Is genus ID possible with these poor images? 28 Aug. 2021. Hi Ray, these flies are among the most abundant in my garden through the last weeks. I think it's Diplonevra nitidula, where the females have mostly yellow fore legs. (See the Gallery & Forum Search).
