Hi to all!

Is there any chance to give a name to this nice one?

15.8.2021, Germany, Upper Bavaria, on top of Mt. Gamsknogel (1750m a.s.l.), coordinates 47.75535N, 12.80475E.

On my rucksack, eating salt or whatever.

Size approx. 12-14mm.

Best greetings
Rupert

Hallo Rupert, I'm quite sure, it's a Peleteria prompta (or rubescens).

Hi Eric and Theo!

Interesting history of answers. ;-)
But much more interesting: Peleteria cf. prompta.

Many thanks to both of you!

Best greetings

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
