The attached picture was taken in N Scotland on 23/09/07 at NH293128 by Jane Bowman. It has been suggested on very good authority that it might be Atylotus fulvus. Any opinions? It certainly looks like A. fulvus, although a rather worn one. It is a rather common fen species here in Fennoskandia.

I spent some time looking up the ditribution in Britain from Stubbs & Drake. I'll try to be faster next time
