Small butterfly

I don't remeber seing a butterfly here for ID, Hope there are some experts Smile This small one (less than 10mm body length) has eluded me for a long time.

my opinion is that there you have an Carcharodus alceae (Hesperidae).

Could it be a Carcharodus sp (Hesperiidae)?

Where did you take the photo? If the photo was taken in the South of Portugal the butterfly belongs to the species Carcharodus tripolinus, in the North we have C. alceae. They are sister species, only differentiable by male genitalia.
This according to the book "As borboletas de Portugal" by Ernestino Maravalhas.

I found the critter right in Lisbon, which means we should call it C. tripolinus. Is that book still available at the bookstores, I never saw it!

Yes, I think it should be C. tripolinus, because the two species are geographically separated.
I bought my book in a Fnac store (in Porto), I don't know if it's still available.
