hI This fly was spotted in Fort Pierce - Florida - USA. The photo was taken by Sean McCann on 9th August 2006. It is a male tabanid. |

This specimen is identified on BugGuide as Tabanus lineola. A complex of species. This one is most likely Tabanus hinellus, the paler coastal species with the wide stripes. T. hinellus was once considered a variety of lineola. |
