Hello, I photographed this fly in Bazzano (AQ), Italy on May 10th 2021. I think it is a Simuliidae, but is it possible to identify its genus or species just from this photo? Thank you in advance, Emanuele ESant attached the following image: [287.01Kb] Edited by ESant on 14-06-2021 20:48 |

Male Simulium. The white spots on the abdomen and the absence of hairs on the basal part of vein R are useful for ID within the genus but not sufficient to place it to species. |
