Hello, a 6 mm fly from a hedge near a small creek. Is this an early Epicampocera succincta? I usually find them in summer on umbelliferous flowers. Hi Jürgen, Epicampocera succincta seems to be correct and they appear from end April on. What confuses me a bit are the yellow patches on the scutellum...

Bluish is either Epicampocera or Pales and because of the well spotted red on scutellum, it is Pales. Other differences are difficult to see in these pics. Theo |
