Hi, I've found these Bibio this morning in an old deciduous forest. I firstly determined the female: - Long tibia I - spur < ¼ - Legs dark brown - Most veins and stigma strongly pigmented - Hairs whitish - Eye naked, long oval The male (a couple of steps away) was prey to a Nigma flavescens - unfortunately only 1 image. (EDIT: male seems to be not venosus) What's your opinion? Thanks for any comment! Greetings, Eric eklans attached the following image: [66.7Kb] Edited by eklans on 12-05-2021 14:51 |

Hi Eric, The female is totally OK, of course ! The male, I am not sure. The hind veins are not pronounced. Could this be leucopterus ? Theo |

Hi Theo, thank you very much for your reply. I've tried to find some more today but it's raining and they hide - I'll try again the next days. Other images without flash are much to bad to see anything - neither the veins nor the tibia I. Greetings, Eric |
