7mm Coastal Sand dunes in Merthyr Mawr Warren, South Wales, UK 26.4.21 Could this fly be Delia albula, a fly of coastal sand dunes white larvae feed on Dune brittlestem fungi? Several were around, mostly males and one female egg-laying I think.. The fly is recorded from this national nature Reserve just east of Porthcawl: https://species.nbnatlas.org/species/NBNSYS0000030529 nick upton attached the following image: [203.96Kb] Nick Upton - naturalist and photographer |
