I hesitate between B. lanigerus and B. johannis.

Is it possible to decide?
Thanks in advance.

Hi Pierre, a lateral view would be nice but to decide between johannis & lanigerus: it's lanigerus: The wing membrane is brownish and the stigma poorly visible - in johannis the membrane is hyaline and the stigma dark brown and clearly visible. B. reticulatus (legs red) & varipes (stigma brown) excluded, too.

Greetings, Eric

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
