Hi everyone! Could this beauty be Hybomitra lundbecki? The key in "the book" leads me to it, and, studying the species' descriptions, I can't find a real alternative (only H. muehlfeldi maybe, but there are no black hairs on the lateral spots of mine, and also the frons should be more narrow for it.) 16-17 mm long. 10. May 2026, Germany, Upper Bavaria, Chiemgau Alps, northern slope of Mt. Hochfelln, about 1000 m a.s.l., coordinates 47.77222, 12.55883 Best greetings Rupert Rupert Huber attached the following image: ![]() [161.19Kb] Edited by Rupert Huber on 11-05-2026 11:27 |

Do you still have the specimen ? * frons seems converging downwards * palp might be a bit slender (?arpadi) I'd like to have a better look at the lower callus, if possible. Theo |

Hi Theo! Many thanks for your confirmations! I excluded arpadi for the missing black hairs on the yellow spots. Here's a picture with a better view on the lower callus. I collected 4 specimens with a certain variety in abdomen pattern (+ the bimaculata). There were plenty of them around.
