Have a nice Day. One Question please. Is it possible to identify this Tabanidae species more precisely? There is only this one photo. I would be very grateful for an answer. Location data: Austria, Lower Austria, Tattendorf, 220m, dry flowering area, 15.6.2019, size 18-22mm Kind regards Karl. karl7 attached the following image: ![]() [102.86Kb] Edited by karl7 on 20-02-2026 15:33 |

Have a nice Day. I'd like to try one more time to see if a generic name is possible here. If not, that's no problem either. I would be very grateful for an answer. Kind regards Karl. |

Hello Karl, do you have a picture, where the eye bands (if present) are visible? From the size I would suggest Tabanus sp. Best regards, Jürgen -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Juergen Peters Borgholzhausen, Germany WWW: http://insektenfo... -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= |

A good Day Jürgen. Thank you for the Answer of. Tabanus sp. Unfortunately, I don't have any other pictures. I also haven't been able to find this Tabanidae species again in recent years. Kind regardfs Karl. |
