Hello, This Brachycera has been collected in a yellow pan trap in coastal area of Moorea, in French Polynesia. I have no idea of its family, is it possible to tell based on this picture ? Thank you for the help ! Tramage attached the following image: ![]() [122.86Kb] |

Based on your remarks, I've searched for Ephydridae Discomyzinae for the region, and Discomyza maculipennis (Wiedemann, 1824) can be a good candidate, based on the habitus and wing pattern. This species is already reported from French Polynesia too. |
