Hello,
I caught on june three male of Atylotus in subhalophile meadows.
I suppose it was latistriatus but in comparaison with my specimens of latistriatus I think it's more rusticus.
One specimen shown here, 13.5mm.
Femur are more than half grey, notopleural lobe grey.
First antennal segment less rounded and strong than in latistriatus.

No long hairs on front tibia (criteria not present in "The book" but find here : https://www.flick...9222196896 and https://www.flick...9587017873

With dark femurs, fulvus and loewianus can be excluded I suppose.

I think so. The head in latistriatus is much larger than in rusticus, almost approaching fulvus. Could you provide a dorsal shot of the head ?

In comparaison with latistriatus
rusticus is on the left. Head is not really less larger than latistriatus on the right

The specimen on the right was caught in a halophile meadow, notopleural lobe yellow, hind femur largely yellow (as in some latistriatus) and long black hairs on front tibia. Long hairs on eyes (fulvus excluded).
First antennal segment of specimen on the left more elongated than in latistriatus.

Is the criteria of long hairs on the anterior tibia a good element? A priori probably not, otherwise it would have been mentioned in the book ?

Well, I asked the author of the book, but he was not aware of this feature !

It seems to work very nicely, tough !

Steven told me that it was based on its own experience. If it's work it's a good thing !
