Hello,
This Tachinidae fly was photographed in spring 2022 in Plaine du Roussillon (Pyrénées-Orientales, France). Its size has not been measured.
We think it is a female of Macquartia:
- frontal setae reaching the cheeks at least up to the 2nd antennal segment
- 3+3 dc
- 3 postsutural ia (for the 1st, it seems that we see the base but the rest is hidden by the presutural ia?)
- long hairs on the eyes
For the species:
- tibia 2 with 2-5 AD setae
- cheeks entirely hairy
- yellow-orange legs
It should be M. dispar or M. viridana.
The prealar seta (pa on 2nd photo) seems shorter than the distance from its base to the posterior edge of the humeral callus, but it is difficult to evaluate with perspective.
We are thinking of Macquartia dispar female.
What do you think please?
