Personally, I would have thought Helophilus pendulus was more likely due to the facial stripe being dark and the hind tibiae being orange on the basal half. In H. trivittatus, the facial stripe should be yellow-orange, and only the basal quarter of the hind tibiae orange. All the best, Dylan |

Thank you Dylan, I thought the same thing. I am often in trouble when I have to distinguish between pendulus and trivittatus on the base of not too good photos...this why I asked the forum. Greetings, Boris |
