Chloropidae, Chloropinae, Meromyzella capensis (Loew, 1860) [described in Meromyza], an abundant fly in whole tropical Africa, especially on swampy grass covered ground. Described in detail by Andersson (1977), erroneously as Meromyzella africana Loew, 1860, a nomen nudum, see Entomologica scandinavica, Supplement 8: 121-124 in p. 1-200. Original description see https://babel.hathitrust.org/cgi/pt?id=hvd.32044092557404;view=1up;seq=107
