Merdaria has a dark spot where the arista joins the antennae. On this photo one side has no dark mark but the other does...maybe a photo artifact.
So if you are nit-picking...it could be either.

Well at least I managed to dig out the thread from going into the profile of AVT from the photo in the Gallery...and now we know the difference. Not that it matters much to me as we don't get them here....Frown
