Hi there, in a previous post, I requested determination of this specimen: http://observatio.../121453984 Now, with a second Villa spec. (I suppose) from a different location in Austria I wondered - if it is possible to determine a Villa-fly just by photo - as there are 8 species annotated for Austria, if some of the following can at least be excluded: V. cingulata V. fasciata V. hottentotta V. halteralis V. ixion V. modesta V. occultis V. paniscus Thanks, Lorin Carnifex attached the following image:  [191.05Kb] Edited by Carnifex on 08-07-2018 19:29 |

Species shown on all of your pictures should be Villa halteralis. |
