Do you remember which thistle they were sitting on ?

According to Smit (2010) host plants of T. hyoscyami are Carduus crispus, C. defloratus, C. acanthoides, C. personata.


The other possibility is Tephritis hendeliana, host plant Carduus nutans.

Yes, they were sitting on a Carduus crispus
