Hello Does anyone have a suggestion for this (I believe) heleomyzidae ? My hunch was Suillia variegata, but... Heron, central Belgium, March 30. Thanks Paul. And, as is often the case, this triggers another question. Back in 2011 I had IDed this one as Suillia variegata.
