A largish rather distinct Suillia sp? Or maybe a smallish Dryomyzidae?

A male of Suillia species from affinis-gigantea species group.
Should be collected to ID the species level Wink (not affinis Pfft)

Thx Andrej!

Hehe, gigantea sounds good. This was a large fly for Suillia. I might have the fly, I need to check.

On the other hand, in Croatia very few S. species are recorded. If not affinis, it can be bistrigata, humilis, notata, ustulata, tuberiperda. Whish of these are within this group?

the plumose arista (the diameter greater than antennal heigth) have
S. affinis, S. umbratica (the for and hind tibia are darkened apically and basally and near the neck the only species with hairs are black !!!,- and S. gigantea -rfather golden seulose femora - not seen in the specimen you catch; and two species: S. flagripes and S. setitarsis with long hairy various tarsal segments on fore and mid leg.
Andrzej Pfft
In my opinion could be S. umbratica - an autumn species !!!
