Hi,

I am trying to identify my Suillia specimens, but not really easy thing to do.
Here is a mâle as I have some other few from the same region, but I am not really confortable with my ID.

Mesopleura are hairy, arista has long hair, scutellum is hairy on almost the whole surface exception to a small triangular basal part.
Using different key, I go on S tuberiperda (Seguy), S humilis or notata (Key of insect of Urss and of British Suillia)

Any other opinion?

Not S.humilis, and rather S. notata than S. tuberiperda

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
