Pictures taken near Szeged, S. Hungary, on 04.05.2012. I think it a a male of Stratiomys singularior. Is this correct? Thanks for any comments in advance! Henrik piros attached the following image: ![]() [181.32Kb] |

I realized now that the eyes are hairy! Would that make this a male of S. longicornis? |

S. longicornis is rather bee-like and has no white markings at the abdomen (see http://diptera.in...pid=148863). The gallery photo of the S. singularior male (http://www.dipter...to_id=1531) shows hairy eyes, too. So why not this species? I am no expert, however... Regards, Sundew |

Thanks a lot for your answer! Of course, S. singularior was my candidate too, but I've read somewhere (I don't remember where![]() Best regards, Henrik P. S.: Would you also be able to have a look at this fly: http://www.diptera.info/forum/viewthread.php?thread_id=53884 |
