I realized now that the eyes are hairy! Would that make this a male of S. longicornis? |

S. longicornis is rather bee-like and has no white markings at the abdomen (see http://diptera.in...pid=148863). The gallery photo of the S. singularior male (http://www.dipter...to_id=1531) shows hairy eyes, too. So why not this species? I am no expert, however... Regards, Sundew |

Thanks a lot for your answer! Of course, S. singularior was my candidate too, but I've read somewhere (I don't remember where ) that southern populations of S. longicornis may have whitish spots on abdomen, that's why I've become hesitant...Best regards, Henrik P.
