Hi,
There are still some photos to be processed that were taken with my old pocket camera. One series shows this Tephritid. From the wing pattern I guess that it is Sphenella marginata. Can this be confirmed? Seen in a Brandenburgian village in August, 2007.
Thanks, Sundew

If there are several taxa with comparable wing patterns, I'll delete these photos.

No need to delete, it's Sphenella marginata.

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
