Hi,
can anyone suggest a species this 6mm Chloropidae?
I take the photo on 19 July 2010 Kokkola, Finland.

I think it's a Psilosoma : notopleural setae are absent + hind femur curved.

There are 2 Psilosoma species in Finland. The differences are in the colour of mesonotum and its bristles. You can go to the Finnish Dipteralista (message 2718 15.11. 2006) to check my mini-article on Psilidae and thus get a species name. Ask me directly if you didn't find help from there.

I fed that text through google translate and a very nice resource on Psilids in northern scandinavia came out of it! Most of it was quite understandable and highly informative.

Nice to hear, if you got something useful out of it! By the way, the latter part of Psilidae (Chamaepsila) is in the message 2802.

By the way, Pentti's species seems to be Psilosoma lefebvrei.
