Northern Germany, Schleswig-Holstein, Schenefeld near Hamburg, earthwall (overgrown with small bushes like hazel, maple, roses, sloes, brambles) under big old oaks, between a street and a field of a tree nursery, at a leaf of maple; Outsidephotos: kuv, 30th of May 2016. Should be Chamaepsila pallida, body entirely yellow with black setae on head and thorax.

Why shouldn't this be Psila fimetaria? I don't see any postverticals and therefore Chamaepsila ought to be ruled out. Short antennal segment 3 with dark smudge around the base of arista is typical of Ps. fimetaria. Walther |
