Hi there, caught this fellow in a mushroom trap, is the ID correct? Hi Carnifex, It looks more to be a Piophilidae. It's genae are too wide. The wing venation is off. And the frontal tarsae are widenened. This then resembles Protopiophila latipes. Regards, Ectemnius |

Oh, yes you are right, and the name latipes says it all ![]() Btw, the other flies caught were all Drosophila testacea. Cheers! I checked on fauna-eu, and there is only one entry for each Piophila and Protopiophila. What is the actual status for Middle Europe?
