Today during lunch break I revisited cat's corpse in park.
I found only Piophilidae on it, but it seems to me that fauna changed.
3-4 mm. Looks like Prochyliza nigrimana. Is it?

I would not know for certain, but the name Stearibia come to mind. Looks like a typical Ozerovian challenge to me.

Right tomorrow Ozerov will be back Moscow.
Nikita
P.S. Among "Ozerov's" families like Scathophagidae, Sepsidae, Piophilidae, absolutely atypicaly looks PallopteridaeGrin

LoL, that gives courage. It has been a while since I had a better look at the piophilidae, but this one stuck. Smile

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
