Admontia comes in mind (note the flattened front tarsus), in which case the yellow calyptra and wing base suggests A. maculisquama. Theo |

I just noticed strong apical scutellar bristles, if I'm not mistaken, difficult to see. That would contradict Admontia. So need to rethink, maybe Phyllomyia was not so bad ? Theo |

Hmm, I haven't seen many Admontia but to me the shape just didn't look right (in my collection they are more normal-shaped and not like this) ... more Phyllomyia but lack of experience isn't a good reason for thinking so ![]() Manager of the UK Species Inventory in the Angela Marmont Centre for UK Biodiversity at the Natural History Museum, London. |
