Hi,

I would like to identify this very small fly photographed on the edge of a pond, 20km West of Paris.
Length about 3mm.

Any idea of its identity/family?
Thanks for help,

Parydra aquila - distinguished by the very short bristles.

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
