Hi,
I found this fly on the 15th of April in the foothills north of Vienna, Austria. Does it belong to the Ulidiidae and can it be identified? This is my first posting in your forum, and I also have to admit that as yet I know very little about flies - but I want to improve, so I can only hope you forgive my lack of knowledge in this field.
Best regards,
Konrad

Thank you Roger and Valery,
I will have to check other threads whether it's usual to express thanks or considered to clog up the communication, but anyway let me express this time that I'm very greatful for your help.
Best regards,
Konrad

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
