hi,

this Nephrotoma from the Koenigsforst (a forest near Cologne, Germany) should probably be N. appendiculata or N. quadrifaria. As the wings are partly visible, maybe it's possible to determine the species? chinery says very weak stigma -> appendiculata, or dark stigma, with dark line below -> quadrifaria.

cheers!

at least in Spain Chinery has about 2-3% of species; I have only foundt references for 13 of 20 species recorded here; I don't know your checklist there, but perhaps it´s not that easy, I hope anyone could help, good luck

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
